Library and Circulation Services

  • Circulation services are provided by using e- circulation system;
  • Catalogue trays are provided to search books catalogue cards by author,
    subject and title;
  • Books in the library can be accessed by using Online Public Access
    Catalogue (OPAC) e-Lib Software;
  • New arrivals can be found on Hluttaw Library Facebook Page;
  • Soft and hard copies of enacted laws and rules are provided;
  • The information and documents on request are provided, and
  • Reference reading room is provided in the library, and exclusive service is
    provided in the reading room close to the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Session Hall.

e-Library and e-Resource Center Services

e-books on various subjects can be accessed through Calibre Software;
  • Enacted laws and rules orangnized in PDF format can be accessed;
  • online browsing can be done on secure computers, and
  • e-lib and Calibre software can be used through the Intranet system on electronic devices (computers, laptops and mobile phones) connected through the Hluttaw Network.

Drop in Services

Drop-in services relating to ICT, the English language, and international parliaments are provided to the MPs during periods when Hluttaw sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 1 to 4 p.m. The MPs are required to nominate themselves at the library and reading rooms in respective Houses of Parliament to meet with the subject-related experts arranged by the UNDP.

Circulation Specifications

  • Only the MPs and the Hluttaw staff can borrow books from the library;
  • The MPs can borrow 10 books per month renew them once per two weeks;
  • The Hluttaw staff can borrow 5 books per two weeks for staff and can renew
    once per two weeks;
  • Reference books, archive records, parliamentary books, papers and
    documents can only be read in the library, and
  • Newspapers, weekly journals and monthly magazines can only be read in the
    reading room of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw.
